About the event
The Event Network will be running a Christmas event to celebrate all things Christmas. The event will be run in conjunction with the Melbourne City Council Christmas program. All proceeds from the event will be donated to Black Dog Institute, they are a medical research institute in Australia to investigate mental health across the lifespan, their aim is to create a mentally healthier world for everyone.
Event Description
Christmas Allsorts, like the sweet, is an event that combines some of the most popular, fun-filled activities together to create the perfect fusion of fun. It’ll be all sorts of fun, with karaoke, comedians, and trivia, all themed around Christmas to celebrate Melbourne and its long-awaited festivities. All this and it only gets better! Proceeds raised from this event will be donated to Black Dog Institute to help those in need, especially through the tough times Aussies have endured through recent events

Key responsibilities
Please note the responsibility below is what we will train you in, so no previous experience is required. Writing skills is something you will need to be comfortable with.
Revolve around organising and running marketing campaigns over social media platforms (such as Facebook, Twitter, Linked In, Instagram, Tok-Tok and Snapchat). Typical responsibilities include There will be a small team to work with across all platforms.
• Creating content, including text posts, video, and images for use on social media
• Promoting the event over social media, in a way that is consistent with an organisation’s brand and social media strategy
• Scheduling social media posts using applications such as Face book business manager
• Interacting with customers and dealing with customers’ enquiries
• Developing new social media strategies and campaigns
• Managing a budget to get the best value out of advertising
• Keeping track of data and analysing the performance of social media campaigns and adjusting where needed
• Collaborating with the team to ensure branding is consistent
• Pitching potential marketing ideas to the team.
• Researching social media groups to post content
• Researching Facebook pages so they share our content
• Researching website to post content
This role is typically responsible for the creation and adaptation of written content for specific social media networks you will be allocated.
You should be comfortable writing social posts that are as short as 140 characters or blogs over 200 words.

Experience needed
You will be trained on the job but are looking for people that are willing to learn.
Someone that wants to get involved in an event to develop their skills
Writing skills is preferred as we would not have the resources to train you in this area.

Leading up to the event 5-10 hours a week depending on the role. On top of this depending on your skill level you will need to allocate training time.
During the event: have fun and take some photos for sharing on social media.
After the event 5 hours thanking everyone for a wonderful event.
